We all love Costa Blanca due to its beautiful places, landscapes and its perfect weather and beaches.

But what areas are considered the best and why to visit and live there?

 

1. Benidorm

Benidorm is the number one of all holiday resorts with millions of holiday-makers heading for the Costa Blanca resort every year. It enjoys its own microclimate and is popular throughout the year. Its impressive skyscrapers may remind you of Manhattan. Benidorm has something for everyone – great British beers and pub grub or tapas in the Old Town. It’s the perfect family resort with plenty of family attractions, theme parks and amusements.

2. Torrevieja

Torrevieja has quickly shot up from a small fishing town to a thriving tourist resort. Torrevieja has many family attractions, great beaches, fantastic sports facilities and a pretty marina. Torrevieja is a top spot for shopping with a large outdoor market and shopping centre.

3. Teulada-Moraira

From cosy coves to fine sandy shores, Teulada-Moraira has beaches for everyone. This is a pretty resort and is perfect for families looking for a villa holiday. In and around the marinas, you will find plenty of fine restaurants. The magnificent castle provides a lovely backdrop for musical evenings in the summer.

4. Javea

Artists love Javea because of the colour of the sea. Compare it to other Costa Blanca resorts and you will find it is an even more attractive shade of blue. Javea has fine beaches, good restaurants and a cool nightlife. Why not try one of the beach bars one summer evening? Order a cocktail, enjoy the music and marvel at the magnificent sunset.

5. Calpe

Calpe is a cool resort with sunbathers having unlimited views of the majestic Ifach rock as well as a stunning salt marsh. It is also one of the liveliest resorts for its fiestas. Throughout the year, Calpe loves to party. From the arrival of the Three Kings, the Moors and Christians mock battles to the German Oktoberfest, Calpe will keep you on your toes.

6. Altea

Altea is one of the prettiest resorts on the Costa Blanca, particularly its Old Town. The light, the historic buildings, the hillside old town and the sparking sea have inspired painters and writers throughout the decades. It’s also a fine place for dining, sailing and unwinding.

7. Denia

Denia is a little paradise for food-lovers with more than 300 restaurants. Many serve a variety of rice dishes while others specialise in the delicious Denia prawn. If the 15 kilometres of beaches are not enough to keep your attention, why not try one of the many water sports or a round of golf?

8. Santa Pola

Santa Pola is a lovely little resort which has proved popular with families and golfers. The scenery is special too with mountains, cliffs and salt marshes providing entertainment for walkers, cyclists and bird watchers. It started life as a little fishing village with a harbour but is now a bustling resort. You can still watch the fishermen land the catch of the day. Note the many varieties of fish and shellfish coming ashore.

9. Playa Flamenca

Top beach resort close to Orihuela with Punta Prima beach to the north and La Zenia to the south. Families love this area for its easy access, marina and water activities. There are plenty of restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a meal in a fine setting. The Saturday market is a good place to pick up bargains to take home.

10. Guardamar

What could be finer than dining in style in a beachfront restaurant? Guardamar is a lovely little resort and is popular with discerning diners in particular. It also boasts that it has some of the best beaches in Spain. It attracts plenty of tourists each year who want to enjoy the best that the Costa Blanca has to offer.
